Spoons are useless without food. Even if there was food, they're useless without a person/hand/arm/mouth. Without food, spoons would only serve as an eye-popping instrument.
Blood is useless without oxygen. Even if there was oxygen, it would need a person/brain/vessel/heart. Without oxygen, blood would only serve as a stimulating liquid to represent death and violence.
One more spoonful of blood... here you go, drink it. It's delicious, isn't it?
